Sharing the Harvest of 2009
We're pleased to share some of the results of the Rhythm of Peace Project so far in 2009:
Participation in a daily focus on peace is growing...
We currently know of at least 1,200 people who are participating in a daily focus on peace. Some of you have told us that you never miss a day; others are participating as time and circumstances allow. We appreciate all levels of participation!
Rhythm of Peace community has global reach...
Through the generosity and good will of many of our community members, Rhythm of Peace books have been sent as gifts to friends and co-workers across the U.S. and around the world.
We hope you'll participate in expanding the community, and consider giving copies of the Rhythm of Peace book this holiday season...
Grassroots activity is healthy and expanding...
True grassroots activity derives its power from many individuals
following their hearts, creating personal initiatives, and taking authentic actions
to further a cause.
We're so pleased to report that the grassroots activity to spread the word about making peace a habit in daily life is taking hold...
Rhythm of Peace community members have been promoting a daily focus on peace in their homes, workplaces, and communities. We've heard stories about how our members are using the daily themes to:
end a painful cold war with a family member,
support home health and hospice nurses in a stressful work environment,
be a focal point for in depth discussions about peace in an interfaith group,
bring comfort to nursing home residents,
support couples in starting the day with a shared commitment to peace,
engage young adults in conversations about what peace means to them,
provide a structure for taking actions for peace in a residential community for seniors,
and many more...
These actions are creative, heartfelt, visionary,
and filled with a genuine longing for peace.
And each one is contributing to building a healthy culture of peace!
Meditation and prayers for peace create tangible results...
Some of you have let us know how important prayer and meditation are in your efforts to cultivate peace in your life. Our twice-monthly Rhythm of Peace Community meditations offer regular opportunities to join with others who care about peace.
We appreciate your feedback that these community meditations offer a tangible sense of connection with others, a time for reflection and healing of personal conflicts, and a deepening connection to the spirit of peace.
The depth of these meditations is growing as more people bring their personal prayers and spiritual practices to this community focus on peace.
Join our next meditation on November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in your time zone.
