12-1-09 Make this holiday season a season for peace...

The vision of "Peace on Earth" comes poignantly to the foreground for many of us during the holiday season.

As global conflicts continue to escalate, we could easily agree on the enormous challenges that must be faced to realize this vision.  Many of us continue to look for ways we can make a difference.

One immediate action we can take is to embrace the challenge of being active peacebuilders in our interactions with others during this holiday season.

To help support this holiday peacebuilding effort, we'd like to invite you to join us in a holiday intention, something we like to create each year to keep ourselves anchored in the true spirit of the holiday season.  This year's intention is:

with open hands and an open heart...

It takes open hands and open hearts to both give and receive.  The gesture of daily openness will guide us in making this holiday season a season for peace.

Our wish for you is that this holiday season be filled with thoughtful giving and also with meaningful receiving, and that in this natural rhythm of giving and receiving you will find some genuine moments of peace.
